猶記得初見 take 時，它總是跟 bring 走在一起，當時老師要我們分辨哪個解「拿去別人處」，哪個解「拿回自己處」，試問完全沒方向感的栗子妹，又豈會弄得清？所以我對 take 這個字實在沒甚麼好感。
跟 run 一樣，作動詞用的 take，其搭配和解法同樣千變萬化：
1. The rebels succeeded in taking the town. (叛軍攻佔了城鎮。)
2. I take The Economist. (我訂閱《經濟學人》。)
3. She took drugs at college. (她上大學時吸毒。)
4. I wish you'd take me seriously. (我希望你認真對待我的話。)
5. The wound may take a long time to heal. (傷口可能需要長時間才能癒合。)
6. The bus can take 60 passengers. (巴士可以載60名乘客。)
