栗已經盡量不看「又中又英」的中譯，但上週還是不慎看了些不該看的。

例一：

如果你以為擦老闆鞋，他就永遠不會辭退你，你就被哄騙了……

(原文：If you think your boss will never fire you just because you
always shine his shoes, then you have been lulled into a false sense of
security.)

或許是栗挑剔，但「擦老闆鞋」跟「辭退」一俗一文，完全不搭配，譯者就不能以「炒」代「辭退」嗎？

例二：

我跟大部份的專欄作家一樣，都渴求讀者，渴望人們拜讀自己的作品。

(原文：I am like most other columnists – we all crave for readers. We crave for
people to read what we write.)

天啊，叫人讀已經難，還要叫人拜？原文根本不是如此狂妄，譯者請不要替作者亂扣帽子！

結語：譯者既然夠膽出名，就請譯好一點吧！何必整臭自己個名？(你個名在栗心目中已經臭了。)
